Listen to Waxahatchee cover Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets of Philadelphia” and more on deluxe edition of Saint Cloud
Last year Katie Crutchfield released the fifth album from her long-running project Waxahatchee, Saint Cloud, to critical acclaim and an overall positive reception. She has now reissued the album to celebrate it’s one-year anniversary.
The reissue features three new covers: Lucinda Williams’ “Fruits of My Labor,” Dolly Parton’s “Light of a Clear Blue,” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets of Philadelphia.” Each song works perfectly in conjunction with the rest of the album, with each song taking on a new meaning under Crutchfield’s flawless execution. “Streets of Philadelphia” in particular takes on a whole new sense when considering that Saint Cloud was written not too long after her move from Philly to Kansas.
Listen to the reissue below. You can find out more about the album in Sarah Hojsak’s interview with Crutchfield about Saint Cloud here.
