Singer-songwriters José González and Rufus Wainwright have announced a co-headlining tour this fall that brings them to Glenside’s Keswick Theatre on Saturday, October 2.

Local Valley, González’s fourth solo album and first new studio recording in more than five years, comes out September 17. A music video for the single “Visions” is out now.

“The video is made (mostly) through animated images from Google Earth,” says the director, Mikel Cee Karlsson. “It was the best way I could think of to get the right perspective, scale and atmosphere for a song like ‘Visions’ – a way to visualize the vast beauty and absurdity of the human condition; the constant natural changes and the impact of the human race; the good the bad and the ugly. Utopian dreams, greed and hope, all linked together on a little blue rock in space.” Watch below.

Wainwright’s latest album, Unfollow the Rules, came out last July, after its initial release was delayed by the pandemic. He also shared a documentary about the making of the record, which you can watch below.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 7 at 10 a.m. Concert dates are subject to change due to the uncertainty of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. At this time, the Keswick Theatre’s in-person box office remains closed. Keep an eye on the venue’s website for updates; currently, the Keswick’s COVID information section details the refund process for shows cancelled during 2020 and 2021.
