Black Music City grant recipients Zeek Burse, Monette Sudler, Emospacebird. and more will play Dilworth Park’s Live at Lunch series next month
As we head into African American Music Appreciation Month, we’re excited to be showcasing the work of 23 musicians who received grants through Black Music City. A collaboration between WXPN, WRTI and REC Philly, the project honors Philly’s rich Black music history.
Starting June 3rd and continuing through early July, musicians who are a part of this project will be performing at Dilworth Park Plaza at City Hall in Philadelphia, as part of the Center City District’s outdoor Live at Lunch series. All shows start at Noon and are free for the public to attend.
According to their web site, Center City District’s safety requirements are that “everyone is required to wear a mask and keep at least 6ft of distance from other park visitors. CCD requests that individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have come in contact with someone who has tested positive within the past 14 days, refrain from entering the park.
Check out the full schedule below and listen to recent music from some of the honorees performing, including singer-songwriter Zeek Burse, jazz guitarist and composer Monette Sudler-Honesty, and Erin Dillard, aka indie pop artist Emospacebird.
