Hiss Golden Messenger will release his latest record, Quietly Blowing It, on June 25. Ahead of the release, the recent Free at Noon guest has shared a new single, “Glory Strums (Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner),” that channels the very specific anxieties of last spring’s early pandemic days while trying to find peace in the solitude.

“‘Glory Strums’ was written in the chaotic green spring of 2020 as a hymn to finding the places and spaces that make us human,” singer-songwriter MC Taylor shared. The song embraces a mellow, West Coast vibe as the Durham, NC-based artists longs for his California roots. “Out in the fields / Looking for silver linings / But just a little taste / Is so hard to find,” he sings.

The song is accompanied by a music video marking the directorial debut of musician / photographer Vikesh Kapoor. Watch below and pre-order Quietly Blowing It via Merge Records.

Hiss Golden Messenger also announced an extensive tour that includes an appearance at World Cafe Live on Tuesday, December 7. Tickets go on sale this Friday at worldcafelive.com, and $1 from every ticket will support the Durham Public Schools Foundation.
