Bob Dylan to perform for the first time since the pandemic in a Veeps livestream next month
Singer-songwriter icon Bob Dylan released his 39th studio album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, during the global pandemic lockdown of 2020, and he’s finally getting to play it live, a year-plus later.
Next month, Dylan stars in Shadow Kingdom, a livestream concert presented by Veeps that features work from across his catalog and particularly from the new record, presented in “renditions…created especially for this event,” according to a press statement.
The concert takes place Sunday, July 18th at 2 p.m. ET, and tickets to the livestream are on sale now; more information can be found here.
Bob Dylan recently celebrated his 80th birthday, a milestone honored here on XPN with a full day of programming dubbed #XPNDylanDay. His 17-minute song “Murder Most Foul” is a free-associative fever dream of 60s and 70s signposts set in motion by the Kennedy assassination; it came in at No. 1,904 on the #XPN2020 countdown, but did considerably better on the Billboard charts.
