Watch Bird Furniture play “Good Memories” for Upandovr
Only a few hours after failing his road test, Robin Ong played a live set with his band Bird Furniture. Unaffected by the fact he didn’t pass, the neo-psychedelic Philly band delivered a groovy performance for Upandovr.
The band played “Good Memory,” a track from their latest album Pour People (In a Hot, Hot Desert), which they released back in April. Despite being denied the typical house-show trial run, they executed the track perfectly. Somehow pulling off a tricky time signature, throbbing bassline, and a folky mandolin moment, they made it seem effortless. Ong’s delivered his usual mix of quirky quip sand hot takes on heartbreak, carelessly confessing, “you’re the library of my stupid scrawlings, my search history with heart eyes.”
Exuding fun energy, it will no doubt leave you dreaming of spilling beers in unfinished basements and dancing to a full Bird Furniture live set. You can watch the live session below and stream the full album on Bandcamp.
