If you’ve been really missing live music, Firefly has you covered with the lineup of the century. For further proof, Arlo Parks dropped a groovy new music video for her track “Too Good.” It’s a standout song from her debut album Collapsed In Sunbeams, and after seeing it, you’ll be searching for a side hustle to get tickets.

Surreal and psychedelic, the camera work feels like having the spins. Watching Parks bake apple pie as she sings about a dysfunctional relationship, it’s far from domestic bliss. Mirroring the circles you whirl in with your situationship, it’s completely disorienting. Trying to find her footing on shaky ground, Parks asks, “why do you make the simplest things so hard.” Burning the pie she was painstakingly trying to perfect, the lights go out, and it’s clear that fretting over the details really isn’t worth it.

As she pokes fun at her person for quoting Thom Yorke and makes jabs at the front they put up, you can’t help but laugh at the lengths people go to to hide their feelings. While vulnerability can be hard, Parks makes you wonder why. The push you need to spill your guts, she makes you want to suck it up and say whatever is on your mind.

In the wake of Firefly, Parks will be playing a sold-out show at The Foundry of The Fillmore Philly on October 27. LiveNation has tickets for that show available for verified resale, to afford those, you might want a side hustle on top of that side hustle.
