Kississippi releases giddy new video for “We’re So In Tune” ahead of sold-out PhilaMOCA show
There are some people you can’t help but fall for. Kississippi‘s Zoe Allaire Reynolds embodies that sense of instant infatuation in the video for her track “We’re So In Tune,” from her new Mood Ring. The album was released a few days ago on Triple Crown Records, and Kississippi will be playing a sold-out show Friday, August 20, at PhilaMOCA to celebrate.
The completely giddy song feels like the second you realize someone is your soulmate. Allaire is caught up on them, and says “you bring my heart so close to passing its limitations.” With 80s pop influences and lyrics that make you weak in the knees, it’s the sort of gushy love song you dance around your room to. Slowing down at the bridge, it feels like one of those movie moments when you see someone from across a crowd, and the rest of the world disappears.
In the video directed by Elijah Crawford, Reynolds is the star of a kids’ show called Kissy’s World. With shots of her spinning around the set, making paper flowers bloom, and playing a bright yellow felt guitar, the video posses the same unadulterated excitement as the song. But the story is also a love story between two puppets from the show: the old and discarded Ugly Ollie, who crushes on Reyonlds’ co-star Pretty Penny, making a it’s a whimsical take on the lovesickness she sings about. Starry-eyed and sneaking kisses in between scenes, it’s the type of pure romance that makes your heart melt.
