Hurry is going on tour with Surfer Blood, will play hometown show at PhilaMOCA
Philly power pop band Hurry announced a short run of tour dates opening for Surfer Blood this fall. The tour includes two dates in North Carolina and concludes at PhilaMOCA on November 10th. This hometown date will be the closest thing to an in-person album release show for Hurry, who hasn’t played live from the new record Fake Ideas since it was released in June.
Lead singer and songwriter Matt Scottoline talked to XPN’s Sam Kesler about Fake Ideas in July. The concept of the album, Scottoline says, is “me starting to realize that a lot of thoughts that I have, aren’t necessarily true. They’re really more informed by the way that your mind works.” While the lyrics are focused on personal introspections, the record’s accompanying book looks outward, featuring interviews with album contributors Justin Fox, Rob DeCarolis, Joe DeCarolis, and Frances Quinlan. The full interview is available here.
