As part of Kanaval: Haitian Rhythms and the Music of New Orleans, public radio station WXPN, in partnership with Ming Media, presents part 1 of a three part series, Nou La (We Are Here), a documentary celebrating the vibrant legacy of Haitian Americans in the city of Brotherly and Sisterly Love. The videos follow the journey of creative Haitians living in Philadelphia, who are artists, culinarians, and cultural workers. Directed by Romel Jean-Pierre, Nou La vividly illustrates how the culture of Haiti thrives through their crafts and lives. Part One includes interviews with singer-songwriter and project contributor Nathalie “Thalie” Cerin, rapper/singer Aime, and evangelical singer Rebecca.
