Bat Fangs film new video for “Queen of My World” with an all-star West Philly cast
North Carolina/Washington DC rock duo Bat Fangs released a new music video for the title track off their upcoming record, Queen of My World. Filmed by Bob Sweeney, “Queen of My World” was shot in West Philadelphia and features a cast of local artists including members of Thin Lips, Queasy, and more. The nostalgic, analog style of the video — typical of Sweeney’s work — matches the grit in Bat Fang’s power-duo 80’s acid rock, and cultivates a “friendly punk” vibe.
Queen of My World is due out October 29th on Don Giovanni Records, an independent New Jersey label. About the new release, representatives from Don Giovanni say Bat Fangs create “a reeling, rocking mass of guitar and vocals that serves as both a reclamation and a reevaluation of a sound that was once a breeding ground for a particularly egregious brand of cock rock dude-bro.” With “Queen of My World,” Bat Fangs rejects the “boys’ club” that was rock n roll in favor of a future that’s more inclusive.
