Producer / songwriter Samryebread shines on new track “Softie”
As Samryebread, producer / engineer about-town Sam Rosen channels their own visionary sound for fans of shoegaze and all genres of electronic music. Last week, Samreybread released a new single, “Softie,” to encouraging blog reviews in the UK and a warm reception from leaders in the music community here in Philly.
“Softie” is a beautiful tune that touches on the nuances of life. Samryebread lets thoughts like “There’s things I can’t explain so please don’t make me” float away into the clouds, light as air. But the song’s thumping beat and distorted hums keep it grounded. The whole composition is gentle and elegantly balanced, proving Rosen’s chops as both a songwriter and producer. There’s much to glean from understanding the two perspectives of music production: behind the sound board and in-front of it. Samryebread benefits from both.
