PRESS PLAY: New Albums out January 7th
After a short holiday break, PRESS PLAY is back to keep you updated on each week’s new releases. Australian indie veteran Angus Stone presents the revved-up Rose Pink Cadillac, the latest from his solo outfit Dope Lemon. We’ll never turn down the chance to hear new songs from Waxahatchee: Katie Crutchfield’s latest set is an original soundtrack to a TV adaptation of Cece Bell’s graphic novel El Deafo. Pop colossus The Weeknd‘s Dawn FM is a collaborator-heavy tribute to late-night freeform radio.
Arriving just shy of the album’s 2nd birthday, the deluxe edition of Best Coast‘s Always Tomorrow offers outtakes and newly recorded bonus cuts. Following the late-November release of Brilliant Adventure (1992-2001), a standalone edition of David Bowie‘s famously shelved album Toy is bolstered by two additional discs of remixes and live performances featuring Moby and Philip Glass.
