PRESS PLAY: New Albums out January 21st!
There’s something for everybody in this week’s batch of new releases. Age of Apathy is the first solo album in six years from award-winning singer Aoife O’Donovan. It combines the grand string arrangements of her 2020 EP Bullfrog’s Croon with sharp production by Joe Henry. Progressive stringbenders Greensky Bluegrass offer Stress Dreams, their adventurous eighth LP. Mexican vocalist Silvana Estrada‘s debut, Marchita, is bursting with new takes on traditional songcraft. Hailing from Leeds, Yard Act make good on the promise of their steady singles on their full-length debut, The Overload.
Folk-blues legend Keb’ Mo’ teams up with Darius Rucker, Old Crow Medicine Show, and more on the nostalgic Good to Be. Tongues, the latest collection from Inuk throat singer Tanya Tagaq, was produced with like-minded boundary pushers Saul Williams and Gonjasufi. Dreamy Portland duo Reptaliens dial up the jangle on their self-produced third album, Multiverse. PRESS PLAY on these new releases (and more) below…
