As we approach the start of Spring, this week’s collection of new albums is a meadow of variety. Indie duo Mattiel return with the sharp and darkly humorous Georgia Gothic. Raised is the third album in as many years from country songwriting mainstay Hailey Whitters. Texas folk-rockers Midlake pay tribute to their psychedelic forefathers on For the Sake of Bethel Woods.

Pop fans will have a field day with glittery new releases by superstar Brit Charli XCX and ever-mutating New Zealanders Yumi Zouma. In the realm of reissues, Sonic Youth unearth rare recordings from their final decade, and Dan Auerbach breathes new life into a nearly 60 year-old lost record by blues originator Son House.
