Philly-based electronic pop artist Cheeky — aka singer, songwriter, and classically trained pianist Kaylee Sabatino — has found a new home for her next project.
Following up on an impressive collection of singles and a 2021 EP called The Tower, Sabatino announced last week that she was joining the roster of independent imprint Boiled Records; which deals strongly in left-of-center releases, like another Philly project Flanafi and their recent collaboration with Ape School.
In their Instagram post announcing the signing, the folks at Boiled said:
“Her music is icily precise; unconventional harmonic movement through an electronic forest, equally technical and magical. It’s gorgeous stuff, rooted in rhythm but constantly bending its own boundaries.”
Some singles and an album are in the pipeline, but no timeline has been shared just yet. In the meantime, Cheeky plays this Tuesday, April 19th at PhilaMOCA to open the Pixel Grip / Patriarchy show. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
