King of collaboration Danger Mouse is at it again. This summer, the GRAMMY award-winning producer is teaming up with hip hop legend Black Thought of The Roots to release Cheat Codes, their new full-length album. The duo shared singles “No Gold Teeth” and “Because” in the last few weeks, and are continuing to tease the highly anticipated record today with a new music video for “Because.”
Shot in a single take, “Because” is a mash-up of real footage and AI altered imagery. In this imagined meta-verse, Danger Mouse and Black Thought occupy the big screens of an uncannily empty Times Square. Emerging rappers Russ and Joey Bada$$ trade lines on the song as well, showing the future of the genre as well as its legacy.
