After wowing us on festival stages over the past decade and captivating us last year with their fourth LP No Rules Sandy, electropop duo Sylvan Esso is heading out on a 2023 tour that brings them to the Franklin Music Hall in Philly on Saturday, August 12th. Recent WXPN Artist to Watch Dehd opens the show, which falls two months after both bands appear at Bonnaroo.
Writing about No Rules Sandy for WXPN’s Best Albums of 2022 MEGA-LIST, David Dye said “Amelia Meath is back with wise adult nursery rhymes and Nick Sanborn’s arrangements (including a string quartet on ‘Your Reality’! ) just meld perfectly. There are pop hooks on songs like ‘Echo Party’ and ‘Didn’t Care,’ and the album finishes with Sylvan Esso’s first acoustic number, Meath’s intimate ‘Coming Back To You.’ Kind of ironic that such a fun album emerged from a three-week lockdown.”
