On one hand, it’s surprising to peruse cross-genre visionary Yves Tumor‘s 2023 tour dates and see that they’re already at Franklin Music Hall-headlining status, with a gig there on May 5th. On the other, it makes total sense; their Making Time Pure Helloween appearance at Warehouse On Watts was the in-demand ticket of autumn 2021, their pandemic-era projects Heaven To A Tortured Mind and The Asymptotical World were critically acclaimed, and there are few if any artists right now making music this gripping and expansive.
Tumor’s new album is going to be called — deep breath — Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), and it’s due out March 17th on Warp! Records. This week, in addition to the tour announcement, we get to hear the new single, “Echolalia,” via a gripping Gulliver’s Travels-themed music video directed by Jordan Hemingway, a frequent visual collaborator or Tumor’s. Watch the video below, and get tickets and more information on the Franklin Music Hall show at the WXPN Concerts and Events page.
