City Winery founder Michael Dorf’s “Music Of” tribute series celebrated its 17th show Wednesday night at Carnegie Hall in New York. The subject was the music of Paul McCartney, and featured performers such as Lyle Lovett, Graham Nash, and a surprise appearance from Patti Smith, who covered McCartney’s work through his time in The Beatles, Wings, and his solo work.

Ticket sales from “Music Of,” which sold out, benefited children’s music programs such as Grammy in the Schools and The Center for Arts Education in NYC. The large crew enjoyed an afterparty at City Winery after the successful event. Watch below for a video of “Hey Jude,” the evening’s finale sung by the whole cast. And a bonus video of Nancy Wilson and Denny Laine performing the 1973 hit “Band on the Run.”
