Hozier chats about stepping into his new era with WXPN’s Dan Reed
The singer-songwriter was in town to play an intimate warmup show at World Cafe Live.
Much-loved singer-songwriter Hozier is building up to a big year; he just released the stirring EP Eat Your Young, he has a new full-length planned for a release later this year called Unreal Unearth. It’s his first new music since 2019’s Wasteland, Baby! and even though the record is still far in the future, his fall tour in support of it is already entirely sold out — including a September 29th concert at The Mann Center in Philadelphia.
Before Hozier’s 2023 kicks in to gear — including a warmup tour of intimate venues, beginning tonight at World Cafe Live — Hozier stopped by WXPN for a chat with afternoon host and music director Dan Reed. They chatted about how he spent his pandemic downtime, he shared details of his home recording setup, he talked about working with his new live band, and gave us some perspective on what to expect with his shows this year, small and large alike.
