Now that their European run of dates has wrapped up, locally-rooted rock stars Japanese Breakfast have another leg of U.S. touring for 2023 — and it wraps up with a Halloween headliner at The Fillmore Philadelphia, where they’ll share the stage with indie faves Hop Along.

The heavy-hitting Philly-centric lineup is, in a way, a callback to summer of 2010, when Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner and her then-band Little Big League supported Hop Along’s album release party for the Get Disowned LP in the basement of the First Unitarian Church. Both artists have amassed acclaimed discographies and passionate audiences in the time since. Both have toured internationally, and gigged extensively in the Philly region, playing XPoNential Music Festival and Philly Music Fest, along with a large percentage of venues in the city. JBrekkie’s celebrated Jubilee LP was released in 2021, along with Zauner’s bestselling memoir Crying In H Mart; Hop Along’s most recent outing was 2018’s stellar Bark Your Head Off Dog, and frontperson Frances Quinlan released their debut solo album Likewise in 2020.

Tickets are available on presale now; the public onsale happens Thursday, July 13th, at 10 a.m. and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page. Japanese Breakfast’s full 2023 tour schedule can be found here; Hop Along does not have any other tour dates currently on the books.
