Northeast PA punk faves The Menzingers have returned with a new single, “There’s No Place In This World For Me,” in anticipation of their upcoming US tour…and secretive next album.
The band detailed their personal meaning behind the latest single and hinted at what’s to come saying, “We’re very excited to share our new single, ‘There’s No Place In This World For Me’ from our upcoming album that… well we can’t go into details just yet but trust us, it’s coming soon! This song is an anthem for anyone stuck between where they are and where they want to be.”
“There’s No Place In This World For Me” finds the punk rock evangelists embracing both folk and roots influences, with vocalist Greg Barnett pushing the limits of his natural rasp and twang to deliver an incredible performance behind gritty punk guitar bends and a foot-stomping beat. Barnett powerfully laments about being disoriented in his own environment, feeling alone with even his closest friends and family, and falling victim to the mindset of not belonging anywhere.
The Philly-based foursome is going on tour November 9, bringing along support from Microwave, Cloud Nothings, and Rodeo Boys. Starting off their twenty-nine show run in Rochester, NY, The Menzingers bring their fist-pumping punk to Philly’s Franklin Music Hall on November 12. Tickets and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page.
