Say She She and Allison Russell have announced their respective fall tours, gracing the World Cafe Live stage on October 20th and November 29th respectively. Two of WXPN’s favorites, the bands are also slated to perform at this year’s XPoNential Music Festival, with Say She She kicking off the three-day festivities on Friday, September 22nd and Russell rounding out the weekend on Sunday, September 24th.

“Disco-delic” three-piece Say She She embark on their ‘Silver’ Tour in celebration of their forthcoming double LP Silver, due out September 29 via Karma Chief/ Colemine. It’s the group’s biggest headlining tour to date, with performances at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, LEVITATION Fest, two nights at LA’s Lodge Room, NYC’s Bowery Ballroom, and of course World Cafe Live. Tickets go on sale Friday. In conjunction with the tour announcement, Say She She also released the music video for “Astral Plane,” backing up an infectiously groovy, harmony-laden track with otherworldly visuals and kaleidoscopic projections.

Meanwhile, newly solo singer-songwriter Allison Russell readies her sophomore album, The Returner, out September 8 via Fantasy Records. “The Returner” Tour begins October 13 with dates at Atlanta’s Terminal West, LA’s El Rey Theatre, Hartford’s Infinity Music Hall, and once again World Cafe Live. A month from her release, Russell has dropped two singles: June’s lead single “The Returner,” and July’s follow up “Stay Right Here.” Both showcase the breadth of sonic color and stunning vocal performances that make Russell stand out as one of the brightest rising stars in singer-songwriter music.
