Two indie rock powerhouses, Pixies and Modest Mouse, are set to electrify North America this summer with a 34-date tour. This co-headlining venture is highlighted by Pixies’ new single, “Crystal Closet Queen,” and follows their 2023 run, which also featured Cat Power, who rejoins them as a special guest. Renowned for their influential role in the ’80s alt-rock scene, Pixies have inspired giants like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and The Strokes, and last played Philly last summer at The Met with Franz Ferdinand. Pairing them with Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum Modest Mouse, we we recently saw on the 25th-anniversary tour of 1997’s The Lonesome Crowded West, promises a purely magical live experience that blends electrifying and lo-fi elements.
The tour stops in Philadelphia on Wednesday, June 12, at the TD Pavilion at The Mann. Pre-sales will occur throughout the week, leading up to the general on-sale, which begins Friday, January 26 at 10 AM. For those planning their summer activities, this is a must-see show to mark on your calendars; get details and more information at WXPN’s Concert Calendar.
