If you have a passion for music, a background in writing and a working knowledge of social media, we want to hear from you. WXPN is seeking an Editorial Content Writing intern to contribute to the XPN.org Music News section dedicated to the local Philadelphia music scene. Interns will write short-form posts covering new music, tour announcements, show previews, concert reviews, record reviews, news updates, and more.
Duties:
Blog about music for the WXPN music blog including tour announcements, show previews, concert reviews, record reviews, news updates, and more.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a familiarity with the Philadelphia music community and a robust knowledge of current music in general, specifically the music played by WXPN. The ability to monitor trends both locally and nationally and pitch coverage relevant to our audience – both short form as well as long-form – is essential. Qualified candidates will have a background in music and music journalism (editing experience is a plus), must be conversant with the music blogosphere for information-gathering, and must have a working knowledge in online publication platforms (specifically WordPress).
