Cosmic Guilt’s James Everhart and Hannah Taylor pay tribute to 60s UK folk on the WXPN Folk Show
Watch 2/9 of Philly’s psychedelic country trailblazers cover a Pentangle nugget on a Sunday night in Philly.
Ahead of a sold out gig earlier this week paying tribute to the history of UK folk at Philly’s 48 Record Bar, James Everhart and Hannah Taylor of Cosmic Guilt visited the WXPN Folk Show to chat with Ian Zolitor about the performance and highlight some artists they’d be celebrating, from Vashti Bunyan to Pentangle. Below, watch the duo cover “Sweet Child” by Pentangle, the title track from that band’s 1968 album. Listen to the entire episode in the player above; Everhart and Taylor’s guest spot begins at the 17:44 mark.
The WXPN Folk Show returns to the airwaves this Sunday, February 25th, and every Sunday. Though there is no guest or theme this week — just a two-hour assortment of great folk music from the past, present, and future — Zolitor welcomes artists on his show with regularity, so make sure you’re always tuned in. Below, watch a recent guest appearance by Philadelphia’s Jackson Pines, performing their song “Mt. Holly Jail” from last year’s Pine Barrens Volume One EP.
