Death by Indie is ready to take the Philly area by storm. Having just released a dark single, “Love Like Lava,” the band will embark on a 5-show tour in Philadelphia, New York, and Delaware this April and early May. Their final stop at the historic Arden Gild Hall on May 4th (with support from Mavis the Dog and Perennial) will also celebrate their new sophomore album, 7 Day Farmers Market.
Death by Indie is a three-piece band made up of Declan Poehler, Isa Teixeira, and Mike Edwards. The band has been making music for almost three years, releasing four EPs and an LP, and playing dozens of shows in their whirlwind of a start. All of their songs are an eclectic mix of lo-fi tracks, sing-song diddy’s, and shoe-gaze-esque songs.
7 Day Farmers Market is an homage to the 7 Day Farmers Market that used to stand in Wilmington. In addition to the album title, the album cover features a painting of the store, immortalizing an establishment that the band holds close to their hearts. If you’re hungry for another glimpse of the album, don’t worry – the band will release another single, “Contract Expand,” on April 26th.
If you’re into artists that push the limits of genre, Death by Indie is not a band you want to miss. With diverse performances and one-of-a-kind sets, each one of their shows promises to be a unique experience. You can catch them in Philadelphia at Ortlieb’s on the 19th.
