Beach Boys-Core. That’s the best way to describe The Lemon Twigs’ newest single, “How Can I Love Her More?”
The Lemon Twigs, spearheaded by siblings Brian and Michael D’Addario, have been bringing ‘60s back since their 2016 debut album Do Hollywood, which Paste Magazine called “a cosmic, charming blend of glam and baroque rock.” This upcoming album will be their fifth, following last year’s Everything Harmony, which brought us “In My Head” and “Corner of My Eye.” Their upcoming album A Dream is All We Know will be released mid-tour on May 3rd.
“How Can I Love Her More?” layers horns, guitar, keys and vocals to deliver us Smiley Smile with a hint of “Penny Lane.” Is it deep? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. The music video for “How Can I Love Her More?,” which dropped April 9th, features touring members Danny Ayala and Reza Martin and was edited by Michael himself, with their father serving as location scout. Shot on film, it uses practical effects, a warm color palette and simple sets to echo the nostalgia of The Lemon Twigs’ music.
