This week the beloved modern rock band Kings of Leon released “Nothing To Do,” a vibrant and raucous song that provides a departure from their two previous new singles, “Mustang,” and “Split Screen.” “Nothing To Do” leans into a loud rock/post-punk sound with prevalent bass lines and distorted guitars. However, even with all the sonic evolution, the band stays true to their roots with a melodic chorus that is perfect for singing along during their upcoming tour.
The music video for “Nothing To Do,” shot in one take by frontman Caleb Followill, matches the song’s chaotic energy while showing viewers an intimate look at the band. Watch it below.
Kings of Leon’s ninth album Can We Please Have Fun comes out on May 10th via Capitol Records, marking the band’s first album to be released with the label. It is also the band’s first time collaborating with producer Kid Harpoon, who you may know from his works with Florence + the Machine and Maggie Rogers, among others.
Following the new album, the band will kick off their world tour in June. They will be coming to The Mann in Philly this fall, check out more details at the WXPN Concert Calendar.
