Regina Spektor is coming to the Met on July 27 in a limited summer tour called “An Evening With Regina Spektor.”
Spektor’s latest album was 2022’s Home, before and after, which was co-produced by Spektor and John Congleton (a collaborator of St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen and more). Between albums, she’s covered “Dear Theodosia” for the Hamilton Mixtape, released “You’ve Got Time” from Orange is the New Black, and wrote “One Little Soldier” for 2019’s Bombshell.
Though Spektor seems to always be creating music, or “sandcastles” as she calls them, creating a new album requires a bit of sacrifice, as she explains in a press release. “They all have to be slowly washed away. Some of them are really well built, and they’re really high up on the beach. It all has to be gone, and then I can start to hear new songs and make a new record.”
Her eight-show tour traverses the East Coast (with a stop in Toronto) from late July to early August. The Philadelphia date goes on sale Friday, April 26 at noon, more information can be found at WXPN’s Concert Calendar.
