Celebrating their fiftieth anniversary, Squeeze has recently announced that they will be touring with Boy George, co-headlining a series of US dates. They will kick off the tour in August, coming to Reading on September 11th and Atlantic City on September 14th.
Emerging in the ‘70s, Squeeze was an influential English pop band. They’ve survived hiatuses and breaks, reemerging invigorated each time. Amidst sonic and member evolutions, Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook have remained at the heart of Squeeze, and they are joined by Stephen Large, Simon Hansen, Steve Smith, Melvin Duffy, and Owen Biddle to create Squeeze’s current lineup.
Boy George — frontperson of another iconic English band, Culture Club — has had a wide-spanning solo career. This tour will be the first time the two acts have collaborated, making for an exciting event. Notably, Squeeze and Boy George will alternate the lineup, taking turns playing first. The shows in Reading and A.C. will see Squeeze play first, with Boy George closing out the night.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 3, and you can find additional details at the WXPN Concert Calendar.
