When searching for a nostalgic sound, there’s no better place to turn than Stephen Sanchez’s music. His most recent album, Angel Face, revolved around a fictionalized ‘50s singer persona, so it’s only fitting that his music continues to move through the decades, landing in a retro blend of the ‘60s and a modern sound in his newest release.

“Baby Blue Bathing Suit,” is a catchy, fun summer tune that will be a part of The Beach Boys: Music From The Documentary, the official soundtrack for the upcoming documentary The Beach Boys, which will come out on Disney+ on May 24.

“I was floored when The Beach Boys’ team reached out to me about being featured on the film’s soundtrack—it’s truly an honor to be a part of this project and I have so much respect for the band and their musical legacy. Endless Summer was one of the first vinyls my Grandpa gave me as a kid. Recording the song was equally incredible!” Sanchez has shared about the single.

Sanchez released an accompanying music video, which takes place – fittingly – on a beach. It’s complete with a big swing-dancing scene that stays true to the ‘60s inspiration of the song. Watch the music video below. For those eager to see Sanchez live, he will be coming to Philadelphia in October; more information can be found on WXPN’s concert calendar.
