Now in its eighth year, Philly Music Fest is swinging for the fences. The annual celebration of Philly Music announced its lineup this morning, and it features one of the scenes biggest success stories — singer-songwriter Amos Lee, who headlines World Cafe Live on the third night of the weeklong run of shows — as well as several of the most prominent players in the scene.

Indie rockers Slaughter Beach, Dog headlines opening night at Ardmore Music Hall, with power poppers Hurry opening the bill; Sheer Mag heads up a riotous lineup of pals at Johnny Brenda’s; Catbite and Reef The Lost Cauze will bring their respective high-octane shows to MilkBoy; Devon Gilfillian and Mondo Cozmo share headlining duties at Underground Arts; the Steve Gunn-led Glass Band joins Angelo Outlaw at Solar Myth. There’s even a TBA surprise headliner on the event’s second night at Ardmore.

Philly Music Fest takes place from October 21st through October 27th, and once again, founder Greg Seltzer stresses the event’s centering of independent music venues and support of local music nonprofits like Beyond The Bars, Rock To The Future, and more.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 24th, at PhillyMusicFest.com. Check out the full lineup in the poster below.
