Following the success of “Tough Cookies,” his pandemic-era variety series, Low Cut Connie‘s Adam Weiner announces a new show for fans of his theatrical brand: “The Connie Club” on WXPN. In a joint press statement, Weiner and XPN preview the hour-long program saying it’ll feature live tapings hosted at Ardmore Music Hall — yes, that you can buy tickets for — that consist of the band doing their thing, plus contributions from special guests from the world of music, comedy, and even sports.
“We are gonna heat up the airwaves all summer,” says Weiner. “We could all afford to let loose and blow off some steam this summer, and I aim to have ‘The Connie Club’ be a sonic place where we can all do just that.” The show premieres on Saturday, June 1 at 5 p.m. and continues for 10 weeks.
Get ready for this thrill-ride of a summer series. XPN’s Bruce Warren adds, “Adam’s always a cool and fun hang, either in the club with the band, or on the air when he’s playing records and telling stories.”
In the meantime, catch Low Cut Connie on tour for their 2023 album ART DEALERS. See dates below, including “Connie Club Live” live tapings at Ardmore Music Hall; information on those shows can be found at XPN’s Concert Calendar.
