Devonté Hynes, known for his project Blood Orange, will be writing music for Job, a new Broadway production starring Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon and debuting at the Hayes Theater July 15.
The indie rock and alternative R&B vocalist, musician, and songwriter will be writing music for the play, written by Max Wolf Friedlich and directed by Michael Herwitz. Since the release of his 2022 single “Four Songs,” Hynes collaborated with Nathy Peluso on the single “El Día Que Me Perdí Mi Juventud.”
“Anyone familiar with Dev’s work already knows what a naturally brilliant storyteller he is, so it’s no surprise that his work on Job not only enriches the thematic and narrative threads but also deepens the emotional resonance of the play,” Hannah Getts, a producer for Job, said in a press statement. “We are thrilled to integrate his innovative musical vision into the fabric of Job.”
Job will formally open on July 30 and run until September 29.
