Here are 12 concerts to see in the next seven days, all around Philly. For tickets and more information, head to the WXPN Concert Calendar.

Sunday 7/14: Pretenders at The Fillmore

With close to half a century under their belt, Chrissie Hynde and the gang are still going strong – in fact, they just released their twelfth record last year. New Wave sensations Pretenders take the stage at The Fillmore on Sunday; no opening act, none needed. Founding drummer Martin Chambers is back for this one, too. // 8:30 p.m., $93.51 (verified resale), AA – Claire Brown

Pretenders - Back On The Chain Gang

Monday 7/15: DIIV at Union Transfer

I’ve been pronouncing it as “Dihv” this whole time, but apparently, DIIV (pronounced “Dive”) is playing Union Transfer this Monday. They’ve been heroes of the shoegaze scene for over a decade now, but the release of 2024’s Frog in Boiling Water is shaping up to be a breakout moment for them. Opening are fellow pioneers of modern shoegaze Horse Jumper of Love and Dutch Interior. // 8 p.m., $30, AA – C.B.

DIIV - Brown Paper Bag

Tuesday 7/16: Cola at Johnny Brenda’s

Quebecois rockers Cola come to Johnny Brenda’s this Tuesday, fresh off their newest record, The Gloss. Angular riffs, cynical lyrics, and thickly-accented half-sung vocals; what more do you need for a good post-punk band? Art-pop oddball Devon Welsh opens. // 8 p.m., $15, 21+ – C.B.

Thursday 7/18: Thursday at Anchor Rock Club

2000s emo icons Thursday are back at the perfect time; not only is third-wave emo seeming to come back in fashion, weekday names are huge right now (of course there’s North Carolina’s Wednesday, and there’s a bunch of bands named Monday and Friday, but I can’t find any Tuesdays, curiously). Their first new single in thirteen years, “Application for Release from the Dream,” is a grand, echoing throwback that’s guaranteed to sound great on a stage. And they’re playing on a Thursday! // 7:30 p.m., $35, 18+ – C.B.

Thursday - "Application for Release from the Dream"

Thursday 7/18: Sug Daniels at Johnny Brenda’s

We’ve known Delewarean Sug Daniels’ joyful electric guitar and bright songs for a quite some. She’s made multiple appearances at World Cafe Live and was one of the founding members of Germantown’s Sweet Juice Festival. Now with The Sweet Boys and special guests Jessye DaSilva and Mandy Valentine, Sug Daniels is bringing all the positivity back to this gritty city. // 9 p.m., $15, AA – Maeve Zeleniak

Sug Daniels & The Sweet Boys - "Leave A Light On" Live at World Cafe Live

Thursday 7/18: Moustapha Noumbissi at Fringe Bar

A dreamy fusion of American pop and West African beats will come with a riverside view this weekend. After releasing single “Layla” and appearing at night one of NON-COMM 2024, Philly’s Moustapha Noumbissi’ll be playing Fringe Bar with Upholstery and The North Country. It’s Noumbissi’s final Philly show until the XPoNential Music Festival, so you’re basically not allowed to miss it. // 7 p.m., Free, 21+ – M.Z.

Moustapha Noumbissi - NonComm 2024 (Full Set)

Friday 7/19: Charley Crockett at The Fillmore

WXPN welcomes Charley Crockett to Philadelphia! The self-taught blues and country artist released his latest album this past spring, titled $10 Cowboy. The music video for “America” from the LP just dropped yesterday – check it out (or his iconic Tiny Desk concert) before you ride on over to Broad and Richmond. // 8:30 p.m., $48, AA – M.Z.

Charley Crockett - "America" (Official Video)

Friday 7/19 and Saturday 7/20: Dave Matthews Band at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion

Dave Matthews Band is an iconic symbol of the 90s, and is now officially recognized as one. With an induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year and seven consecutive studio albums debuting as No. 1 on Billboard, the jam band’s ants have been marching across the US and will be making a two-night stop in Camden. // 7:30 p.m., $67.20 and up, AA – M.Z.

Dave Matthews Band-All You Wanted Was Tomorrow-LIVE 7.18.23, Garden Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ

Friday 7/19: Greensky Bluegrass at XL Live

As their name would suggest, Greensky Bluegrass are experts at jamming out and having fun. However, the five-piece band have put their own spin on bluegrass, approaching the style with rock influences and a jam-band spirit. Known for their enthusiastic tours, their live shows are something to behold. Head out to Harrisburg this Friday to catch Greensky Brothers at XL Live. // 8 p.m., $35, AA – Emma Zoe Polyak

Greensky Bluegrass - Grow Together

Saturday 7/20: Queen of Jeans at PhilaMOCA

Philly favorites and indie-rockers Queen of Jeans are coming to PhilaMOCA this Saturday. Their latest album, All Again, contains a range of sounds, from angsty in-your-face guitars and vocals to more subdued melodies reminiscent of your favorite bedroom pop artists. An emotionally rich album, it explores the depth and intricacies of love and heartbreak, over and over again. Don’t miss their hometown show this week! // 7:30 p.m., $15, AA – E.Z.P.

Queen of Jeans - Horny Hangover

Saturday 7/20: Langhorne Slim at Tellus360

Langhorne Slim has always connected music with his roots. The title of his previous album, Strawberry Mansion, refers to the neighborhood where his grandfathers grew up, and his stage name is taken partly from his hometown of Langhorne. Slim’s sincerity shines through his folksy songs, providing soundtracks for life’s brightest, and darkest, parts. He’ll be playing at Tellus360, a modern Irish pub in Lancaster, the perfect setting for a night of easy-going music. Try not to spill your drinks! // 7 p.m., $20, 21+ – E.Z.P.

Langhorne Slim - The Way We Move (Romero Thrasher Version) [Official Music Video]

Saturday 7/20: Don McCloskey at Spruce Street Harbor Park

Don McCloskey’s music is like a ray of sunshine. With his blend of rock, folk, soul, and Americana, the Philadelphia native knows how to have a good time – and he makes sure everyone else is having one too. Backed by an eight-piece band, he’ll be playing at Spruce Street Harbor Park this weekend. Come out and enjoy this free show with the fam! // 7 p.m., Free, AA – E.Z.P.
