Indie rock group Wild Pink has announced Dulling The Horns, their next studio album following 2022’s ILYSM, with the single “The Fences of Stonehenge.” ILYSM was an album written while frontman John Ross received a cancer diagnosis. Dropping via Fire Talk on October 4, Dulling The Horns aims to explore the drive to create in the face of disaster.
“The Fences of Stonehenge” has a classic return to form, with lyrics that evoke longing. “I was messing around with some classic sounding lyrical tropes because I wanted to pick them apart as a song idea but also because they actually sounded good as lyrics,” Ross said in a press release. “I think it works because this song is kind of about figuring out what to do when you realize you outgrew a lot of stuff you used to like. This song came together somewhat quickly and I was pretty sure it was gonna be the album opener when I was writing it.”
Wild Pink has also announced an international tour concluding in New York City. Back in Philly, they’ll be playing the Ukie Club on November 21st.
