Beloved indie-rock songwriter and musician Sophie Allison, better known as Soccer Mommy, has announced her fourth album, Evergreen. It’s set to release on October 25, via Loma Vista Recordings.

Along with the news of her upcoming album, Soccer Mommy released a new single, “M.” The first track written for the album and the second single released, it’s a bittersweet song that ruminates on loss and missing someone who’s not around anymore, a theme that resonates throughout Soccer Mommy’s newest project. Created in the wake of a personal loss, Evergreen is full of raw and honest songwriting. Utilizing acoustic guitars, strings, and flutes, Soccer Mommy stays true to her sonic roots, while evolving onto a grander plane.

“I wanted to change things up a bit on this one and play around with some more organic textures. It was really important for me that the songwriting shone through everything and came to the forefront. These songs are very close to my heart and I hope they become close to some of yours as well!” shared Soccer Mommy on social media.

Directed by Anna Pollack, the music video for “M” is a hazy trip through Western landscapes. Watch it below.
