Here are ten concerts to see in the next seven days, all around Philadelphia. For tickets and more information, head to the WXPN Concert Calendar.

Monday 8/5: Missy Elliott at Wells Fargo Center

Missy Elliott has had many firsts, including becoming the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the first female rapper in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.  Now, she’s landing at the soon-to-be-renamed Wells Fargo Center for her first headline tour! With Busta Rhymes and Ciara opening and Timbaland as a special guest, her Out of This World Tour will be a stellar celebration of the R&B pioneer’s discography. // 7 p.m., $79.50 and up, AA – Maeve Zeleniak

Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On [Official Music Video]

Tuesday 8/6: DIIV at Union Transfer

After five years without new music, Frog in Boiling Water dropped in May and DIIV has hit the road. After rehab, breaking up and reforming, and a whole lot of reflection, the shoegaze meets post-punk group is using their sound to explore how the external influences the internal.  With Horse Jumper of Love and Dutch Interior opening, there’s a definite vibe coming to UT that you don’t want to miss. // 8 p.m., $30, AA – M.Z.

DIIV: Brown Paper Bag

Wednesday 8/7: The New Pornographers at Ardmore Music Hall

(UPDATE: The concert, previously set to happen at Upper Merion Township Park for the Concerts Under The Stars series, has been moved indoors to Ardmore Music Hall.) This supergroup led by Carl Newman is a perfect blend of power pop, rock, and a bit of experimental flair. The New Pornographers are able to create a sound that’s both upbeat and introspective in a way that stays with the listener. Catch a scaled down version of the band’s legendary epic lineup – contralto and original member Neko Case is departing for a solo tour this fall — at Concerts Under The Stars Wednesday.  // 7 p.m., $59, AA – M.Z.

The New Pornographers | NPR MUSIC FRONT ROW

Thursday 8/8: The Dip at Tellus360

The Dip is bringing the funk to Lancaster. WXPN Welcomes the Seattle Soul group of former University of Washington jazz students as they support the release of fourth studio album Love Direction. Combining a horn section with pop and indie influences, The Dip will not disappoint, and neither will their opening band — the buzzing D.C. funk rock outfit Oh He Dead. // 8 p.m., $25 and up, 21+ – M.Z.

The Dip - Sure Don't Miss You (Live)

Thursday 8/8: Kam DeLa at MilkBoy

There’s nothing like a release party of an up-and-coming artist to exhilarate and renew a sense of hope for local artists. And NJ native Kam DeLa is a true Renaissance man – the producer, engineer, graphic designer, and multi-instrumentalist (who we recently featured on The Key Studio Sessions) will be celebrating the release of his EP THE MIDNIGHT SNACK, which DeLa dropped July 18th. Don’t miss DeLa’s groovy take on the classic R&B sound. // 8 p.m., $20.97, 21+ – M.Z.

Kam DeLa - Full Set (Recorded Live for The Key Studio Sessions)

Thursday 8/8: Winged Wheel at Johnny Brenda’s

Detroit rock group Winged Wheel rolls up to Johnny Brenda’s this week just a few months off the release of their sprawling sophomore record Big Hotel. Dreamy vocals, broken noises, and rambunctious krautrock grooves are abound on this record, which features Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth fame. The phenomenal Philly post-hardcore act Cartoon opens, along with guitar soundscaper Emily Robb. // 8 p.m., $15, 21+ – Claire Brown

Friday 8/9: Green Day at Citizens Bank Park

This Friday at Citizens Bank Park, there will be no features, no Swedish songwriters, and most certainly no trap beats; just 100% pure uncut rock from the likes of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas. It’s always best to see Green Day during an election year; it makes them play all the American Idiot stuff just that much harder. // 5:30 p.m., $129, AA – C.B.

Green Day - American Idiot (Official Music Video)

Saturday 8/10: 2nd Grade at Johnny Brenda’s

You may not have heard of 2nd Grade yet, but you’re going to. The Philly indie rockers have been putting out some of the poppiest power pop since Big Star, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it lands them the same cult audience. They’ll be sharing the stage with Brooklyn psych-pop group Jeanines. // 9 p.m., $15, 21+ – C.B.

Saturday 8/10: Iron and Wine at The Fillmore

Shhh!!! Ssshhh!!! Quiet!!! Iron and Wine is playing at The Fillmore and your internal monologue is drowning out Sam Beam’s impossibly-soft indie folk music. He’lll be performing tracks from his newest solo record under the Iron and Wine moniker, Light Verse. Rosali opens; visuals provided by multimedia arts collective Manuel Cinema. // 8 p.m., $53, AA – C.B.

Sunday 8/11: Neal Francis at The Sellersville Theater

WXPN welcomes singer-songwriter Neal Francis to The Sellersville Theatre in Bucks County this week. A swanky old-timey hall is the perfect setting for Neal Francis’s retro brand of piano rock, which pulls from equal parts Billy Joel, Elton John, and Alan Toussaint. The similarly-nostalgic sounds of Shane Guerrette kick this show off. // 7:30 p.m., $35, AA – C.B.
