The general public is now well aware that Clairo is an indie wrestling fan.
For her first music video since 2018’s “Pretty Girl, ” the indie pop artist used a retro wrestling theme on the new video for “Juna,” and it creates a whole new take on the song.
The artist Claire Cottrill broke her music video hiatus by singing at the edge of a boxing ring at The White Eagle in Worcester, Massachusetts. Directed by Bradley J. Calder, it also includes footage of her appearance at Beyond Wrestling’s Wrestling Open.
According to Rolling Stone, “Juna” is one of Clairo’s favorites on Charm, but never expected it to be such a hit. “I made that song not thinking it was going to become huge. [The performance on Fallon] was going to be ‘Sexy to Someone,’ and then everything started happening with ‘Juna,’” Cottrill said. “So we changed it maybe two days before, which was nerve-wracking, but super sweet. I just wasn’t anticipating doing mouth trumpet on television.”
Clairo will be visiting Franklin Music Hall for two nights while on tour this November. Watch the video and view tour dates below.
