It can be so exciting when an artist or band rolls out physical copies before a big streaming announcement. It happened with Jack White’s newest LP a few weeks ago, and Friday, The Smile surprised us with a vinyl-only single, with rips of both tracks quickly appearing on YouTube.

Rock supergroup The Smile, made of Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner, released their second studio album Wall of Eyes in January, and have since performed track one on the 12”, “Don’t Get Me Started,” in March. The other song on the single, “The Slip,” hasn’t been heard before. It’s got a moody, almost bossa nova-inspired intro before electric guitar breaks through almost two minutes in.

Listen to vinyl rips of the tracks below. The Smile canceled their Euro tour last month due to Greenwood needing “emergency hospital treatment,” so there’s no tour dates right now, but we can’t wait for these tracks to be properly streamable.
