Finneas: singer, songwriter, and producer extraordinaire. His first solo work since 2022’s Optimist, “For Cryin’ Out Loud!” arrives as the first single and title track from his upcoming sophomore record. The bouncy, jazzy pop track marks a shift in his creative process – in past projects, both solo and with his sister Billie Eilish, Finneas opted to work in smaller, contained collaborations. However, with For Cryin’ Out Loud! he opted for live studio sessions with other musicians. This change can be best heard in the rich, spirited brass arrangement throughout the song.

The track is accompanied by an erratic music video that takes the saying “your love is killing me” to a whole new level. Written and directed by Isaac Ravishankara, it features Finneas in an endless loop of love and hurt, with not one but two jumpscares as he falls down an elevator shaft and gets hit by a bus. Watch it below!

Although Finneas doesn’t have any solo tour dates as of yet, he will undoubtedly accompany Billie Eilish on her upcoming world tour. You can find more details about her Philly and NJ shows at WXPN’s Concert Calendar. For Cryin’ Out Loud! is set to release on October 4, find the full tracklist below.
