Philadelphia locals Dirty Dollhouse return with a second single from their upcoming new album, The End. “For Carolina” is a heartbreakingly twangy, romantic, and dreamy track that imagines alternative lives where we make all the right decisions and end up with the one that got away. Always one for emotional storytelling through her lyrics, lead singer Chelsea Mitchell creates a narrator who finds both comfort and pain in the knowledge of these alternate timelines, her expressive vocals floating over the country-tinged tune.

Most of the songs from The End were written in quarantine, and take listeners through an emotional apocalypse, giving a haunted undertone to the songs. Originally conceived as a vocal trio a decade ago, Dirty Dollhouse has evolved over the years into a folk-rock band, with Josh Machiz on bass, Eric Lawry on drums, and Mitchell at the forefront of the project. The End is set to release on October 22 and can be pre-ordered here, via Renaissance Records. Listen to “For Carolina” below.
