Leave everything you know about Girlpool’s Harmony Tividad behind and jump on the electro-pop party bus that is her solo career. I’m talking glaring pink lights, confetti, and a disco ball all on wheels headed towards a complete rager. Harmony, AKA co-founder of indie-rock band Girlpool, has announced her debut solo album with the release of her newest single, “No Romeo.” The track is an eclectic burst of pop, following singles “Coke and Mentos,” “Miss America,” and “Thot Daughter.” Each track is a stark shift from Harmony’s work with Girlpool, trading guitars for synths and pulsing beats.

The visuals for “No Romeo” are no different, with Harmony directing, styling and editing the music video. Inspired by Gossip Girl and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, the video is set at a chaotic party, full of glam, lust, and indulgence, a nod to the theme of her upcoming album.

Gossip is an exploration of different angles of virtue, I wanted to play with the concept of goodness. You observe so many interesting people living in this world and it’s easy to judge them,” shared Harmony in a statement, “Some of the people I characterized I know intimately, some from a distance. Some of the traits live inside me and I exploded them. I wanted to explore shame, parts of myself I think are ugly, shine light and offer compassion to them. I’ve dealt with moral scrupulosity for a lot of my life and I’ve realized the definition of goodness is so different for each person.”

Gossip is set to release October 11 via Harmony’s own label, Harmony’s Fantasy Corp. Watch the music video for “No Romeo” below.
