Brooklyn-based experimental duo fantasy of a broken heart are emerging from the underground. After teasing their upcoming debut album Feats of Engineering with a variety of singles, Bailey Wollowitz and Al Nardo dropped something that won’t be appearing on the LP – single “Follow Your Captain.”
Recorded and mixed within two days over this summer, the highly personal song has been around during the development of Feats of Engineering. “Captain is about our youth together, our time spent in the woods and tunneling underground, and a human’s ability to recklessly let themselves be controlled by another,” Wollowitz said in a recent statement. “A lot of the sound design was inspired by Smash Bros. It’s the quickest we’ve ever completed a recording from start to finish, and I think the anxiety of doing so is palpable.”
