You might recognize Kennedy Mann as the front person of Philly indie-rock band Highnoon. Over the past year, Mann has released three singles as a solo artist, two low-fi home recordings, and the lush “On Video” being their latest. Simplicity is the song’s strength, as soft drums, a steady guitar rhythm, and shimmery, twangy elements lay the ground for Mann’s raw vocals. “This song is about missing all the old parts of yourself you can’t get back,” they shared about the song. “It’s one of my oldest and most personal songs and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!”
In the music video, Mann stands before a projection of different videos, from flowers blooming to underwater landscapes and exploding fireworks. There’s a nostalgic touch to the videos, similar to the experience of watching early childhood tapes as faded memories rush back. Watch it below, and listen to Mann’s new single here.
