For WXPN hosts Robert Drake and John Vettese, October is their season. The curators of our 80s specialty program Land Of The Lost and our 90s deep dive What’s The Frequency have traditionally reveled in collecting the spooky sounds of their respective decades and showcasing them on Halloween-adjacent episodes of their shows. For 2024, the first year that LOTL and WTFXPN are weekly programs, Drake and Vettese have gone dark for the entire month of October.
Every Friday night this Halloween season, you can tune in to The Dark Side of New Wave on Land of The Lost from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by Spooky Szn on What’s The Frequency from 9 to 11 p.m. Listen live to soundtrack your activities leading up to Halloween — haunted house trips, pumpkin carving, costume preparation, maybe even a Halloween party or four. And if you miss the shows as they’re happening, fear not! WXPN has created two Halloween-centric Spotify playlists for your listening pleasure, collecting virtually every song Drake and Vettese spin this month. (Minus a few very deep cuts.)
