Saturday 11/23: Dominic Angelella at PhilaMOCA

Philly-rooted indie rocker Dominic Angelella has had a productive year. In the spring, he released a minimal and introspective project called Move Out Of America — in part a reflection on leaving his home country to live with his spouse, singer-songwriter Chanelle McGuinness, in Ireland — and he followed it up in late summer with the feisty God Loves A Scammer LP. Both are packed with Angelella’s penchant for witty wordplay, and memorable hooks, and his U.S. run this week brings him to PhilaMOCA on Saturday with support from Lucy Stone (his old bandmate in the DRGN King) and Lindsay Reamer. // 8 p.m., $14.93, AA

Dominic Angelella - Dirty Mattress

Sunday 11/24: Maxwell Stern at PhialMOCA

Philadelphia-based, Ohio-born singer-songwriter Maxwell Stern is often discussed in conjunction with the litany of DIY / punk bands he’s been in over the years. And they’re great bands, to be sure, but if he’s known for one thing, let it be that he’s a terrifically versatile stellar singer-songwriter, and his new record In The Good Light shows him at his best. Built around gnarly Americana-adjacent indie rock arrangements and vivid lyrical storytelling, the record includes collaborations with Chicago’s Ratboys and Philly’s Mike Slo-Mo Brenner. Stern plays it live Sunday night at PhilaMOCA with support from two other Philly-connected projects: the sunny Cali indie rockers Pouty and the Fishtown alternative stalwarts The Superweaks. // 8 p.m., $14.93, AA

Maxwell Stern - Two Magnets
