Saturday 12/28: Adam Blackstone at City Winery Philadelphia

Legendary local bassist, composer, and band leader Adam Blackstone plays a homecoming show this weekend at City Winery. Whether it be with his own music, or his production and management skills for some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Jill Scott, Niki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, and John Legend, Blackstone knows how to impress, and this weekend he’ll do exactly that for hometown fans. // 7:30 p.m., $50 and up, 21+

Sunday 12/29: The Bouncing Souls Home For The Holidays at The Stone Pony

Formed back in 1989, New Jersey band The Bouncing Souls picked up the fast paced punk scene and ran with it. Their annual Home For The Holidays show touches down at The Stone Pony this Sunday, with support from fellow local Dave Hause and more. // 6 p.m., $104 (verified resale), AA

Monday 12/30 and Tuesday 12/31: Lotus at Union Transfer

Denver / Philly psychedelic jammers Lotus have been active for 26 years, and are playing two nights in their hometown for your New Year’s festivities. Everyone loves a hometown reunion concert right? The Disco Biscuits, originally from Philly, will be playing a double header, December 30th and 31st, to ring in the new year at The Fillmore. The multi-instrumental trance fusion band comes to town to play a variety of genres, all mixed and intertwined; from electronic to rock, The Disco Biscuits range is endless. // 9 p.m., $71, AA

Tuesday 12/31: The Menzingers at Ardmore Music Hall

Originating just up the turnpike in Scranton, east coast rockers The Menzingers are celebrating New Years’ Eve just up Lancaster Avenue at Ardmore Music Hall. On the heels of last year’s great Some Of It Was True, the band has been spending a lot of this year on the road marking the tenth anniversary of its breakout album On The Impossible Past. Maybe new songs will be in store at Ardmore on New Year’s Eve; definitely big singalongs and a hit parade of anthemic punk rock will be. // 9:30 p.m., $49, 21+
